As Ozai lept to attack him, Aang spun around with the agility of a master air bender, grasping the cowardly firebender's forehead and chest. Bright light issued from both Avatar and Fire Lord, and within moments changes began to undertake the latter. His hair shortened and became dark and spikey, a white streak arching through it. His body became encased in a bright red fabric with a strange symbol on the chest. Perhaps the strangest of all, his skin turned as blue as one who freezes to death.
Aang let go, panting, and Ozai collapsed. Toph, Suki, and Sokka ran (in Sokka's case, limped) to Aang and looked down at the fallen dictator. Well, Toph looked in his general direction.

Sokka grabbed his gun and began to attack. Whether or not anyone was with him wasn't his concern at the moment. He had to stay alive, for Katara and Suki. There was no other option. He ran to a small hole that he discovered a couple of days before, and fired from there.

It's easy to kill a person, and Sokka realized that even before the war began. After about what seemed like an eternity of gunfire, there seemed to be no one left.

He climbed out of the hole. The bodies were all over the floor, Haru, Jet, Bumi, a friend Aang had made...

His heart skipped a beat.

Aang!

He ran to the other side of the cave to find Aang lying on the ground. Blood poured from his head, and in his hand he held a gun, still smoking. He looked across Aang and saw a young man lying on the ground, one arm over his shot belly.

Sokka walked to the man. A Japanese soldier. Looked like he got his face fucked up too; one of his eyes was surrounded by a scar. He was still alive, muttering some words in a language Sokka did not understand. This was the one who shot Aang.

There was no hesitation. The man was going to die anyway, Sokka just made it faster.

Sokka fell to the floor. He curled into a ball and started shaking, his body alive from the stress and the killing. It was then he noticed a small box to the wall. He'd never seen it before.He picked up the box, which had an attached note on it.

The note was in English, and it was written as follows:

"Sokka! I know you're running out, so just use mine. It's okay, I don't smoke anyway!

Merry Christmas,
Aang."

By now the adrenaline had subsided, and Sokka felt tears began to fall from his eyes.

There was only silence in the cave. Fin.

And that's the best I could do.
